  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup (for serving)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the cubed bread to the egg mixture and gently fold until the bread is fully coated.
  4. Stir in the fresh berries, reserving some for garnish if desired.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can mix in some chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
