Description

Juicy and flavorful smash burgers that are crispy on the edges and tender on the inside, topped with your favorite condiments.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of cheese (American or cheddar)
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles for toppings
  • Ketchup and mustard for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions (about 4 ounces each).
  3. When the skillet is hot, place one ball of beef on the skillet and immediately smash it down with a spatula until it’s about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy and browned, then flip the burger.
  6. Add a slice of cheese on top of the burger and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove the burger from the skillet and place it on a toasted bun.
  8. Top with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles as desired.
  9. Serve with ketchup and mustard.
