  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the chuck roast with salt and black pepper.
  3. Sear the roast in the skillet until browned on all sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer the roast to the slow cooker.
  5. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, carrots, and potatoes around the roast.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and bay leaves.
  7. Pour the broth mixture over the roast and vegetables in the slow cooker.
