Description

A classic Reuben sandwich made with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing, all grilled to perfection between slices of rye bread.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 1 pound corned beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup Russian dressing
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer corned beef, sauerkraut, a slice of Swiss cheese, and a tablespoon of Russian dressing.
  4. Top with another slice of rye bread, buttered side up.
  5. Place the sandwiches on the skillet and grill until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.
