Pigs in a Blanket: 5 Irresistible Tips for Perfect Appetizers

  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Pigs in a Blanket are a fun and easy appetizer made with mini sausages wrapped in flaky pastry. Perfect for parties and gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 package (14 oz) mini cocktail sausages
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Mustard or ketchup for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  3. Place one mini sausage on the wide end of each triangle.
  4. Roll the dough around the sausage, starting from the wide end and rolling toward the point.
  5. Place the wrapped sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with mustard or ketchup for dipping.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, try using cheese-filled sausages or adding cheese slices before rolling.
  • You can use puff pastry instead of crescent roll dough for an even flakier texture.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from frozen.
