Description

A classic Philly cheesesteak recipe featuring tender beef, sautéed onions, and melted cheese served on a hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese or Cheez Whiz

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing until soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Return the sautéed onions and peppers to the skillet, mixing them with the beef until heated through.
  6. Divide the meat mixture into portions and top each with 2 slices of provolone cheese. Cover the skillet until the cheese is melted.
  7. Place the cheesesteak mixture into hoagie rolls and serve immediately.
