- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss to coat evenly and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spoon the batter over the top of the peaches, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Notes
- You can use frozen peaches if fresh aren’t available; just thaw and drain them before use.
- For an extra touch, consider adding a sprinkle of brown sugar on top before baking.
