  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Experience the flavors of the coast with this traditional New England Clam Bake, featuring fresh clams, corn, potatoes, and sausage, all cooked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 dozen fresh clams, scrubbed
  • 2 lbs small red potatoes, halved
  • 4 ears of corn, husked and cut into thirds
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the potatoes. Cook for about 10 minutes until they start to soften.
  2. Add the corn and sausage to the pot and cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. Carefully add the clams to the pot and sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning. Cover the pot and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the clams have opened.
  4. Remove from heat and discard any clams that did not open.
  5. Drain the pot and transfer the contents to a large serving platter.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter over the clams and vegetables, and serve with lemon wedges and fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Ensure all clams are fresh and alive before cooking.
  • Feel free to add other seafood such as shrimp or lobster for a special touch.
  • For a more authentic experience, consider cooking the clam bake on the beach using a large fire pit.
