- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (240ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 4 cups (960ml) cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the cooled simple syrup.
- Add the remaining 3 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity by adding more water or lemon juice if desired.
- Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- For a sparkling lemonade, replace some of the water with club soda or sparkling water.
- You can adjust the sugar level based on your sweetness preference.
