Ingredients

  • 4 pickled herring fillets, rinsed and drained
  • 1 medium apple, cored and diced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the diced apple, chopped onion, apple cider vinegar, vegetable oil, and sugar. Mix well.
  2. Add the rinsed herring fillets to the bowl and gently toss to coat them in the apple mixture.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Let the mixture sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve chilled, garnished with fresh dill.
