Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix warmed milk, egg, and melted butter until combined.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Cut out circles using a doughnut cutter or a round cookie cutter.
  8. Place a teaspoon of jam in the center of half of the circles, then top with the remaining circles and seal the edges.
  9. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Fry the doughnuts in batches until golden brown on both sides (about 2-3 minutes per side).
  11. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • You can use any flavor of jam you prefer, such as raspberry, strawberry, or apricot.
  • Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature to achieve a golden and crispy exterior.
