  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

A simple and delicious recipe for making homemade fruit jelly using fresh fruit juice, perfect for spreading on toast or using in desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh fruit juice
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 pouch (1.75 oz) pectin
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare your jars and lids by sterilizing them in boiling water for 10 minutes.
  2. In a large pot, combine the fruit juice and water. Stir in the pectin and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, add the granulated sugar all at once. Stir constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Bring the mixture back to a full rolling boil and boil for 1 minute.
  5. Remove the pot from heat and skim off any foam that forms on top.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice and mix well.
  7. Pour the hot jelly into the prepared jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of headspace. Wipe the rims of the jars with a clean cloth.
  8. Seal the jars with the sterilized lids and process them in a boiling water bath for 5-10 minutes.
  9. Remove the jars and allow them to cool completely on a clean towel or cooling rack.

Notes

  • You can use any fruit juice you like, such as grape, apple, or berry juice.
  • Make sure to check if your fruit juice contains preservatives; it’s best to use fresh juice.
  • The jelly will thicken as it cools, so don’t worry if it seems runny at first.
