- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1/3 cup melted butter or coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter or coconut oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve.
Notes
- You can substitute almond flour with a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend if desired.
- For an extra indulgent treat, top with whipped cream or serve with fresh berries.
