Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup melted butter or coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter or coconut oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Transfer the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it out evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve.

Notes

  • You can substitute almond flour with a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend if desired.
