  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes. Using a mandoline or sharp knife, slice the potatoes very thinly (about 1/16 inch thick).
  2. Soak the potato slices in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  6. Air fry the potato slices for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking, until the chips are golden and crispy.
  7. Remove the chips from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.

  • Make sure to slice the potatoes as thinly as possible for maximum crispiness.
  • Feel free to experiment with different seasonings to customize your chips.
  • Store any leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
