Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Using a mandoline or sharp knife, slice the potatoes very thinly (about 1/16 inch thick).
- Soak the potato slices in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry the potato slices for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking, until the chips are golden and crispy.
- Remove the chips from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to slice the potatoes as thinly as possible for maximum crispiness.
- Feel free to experiment with different seasonings to customize your chips.
- Store any leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
