A flavorful and creamy chicken tikka masala made without any alcohol, perfect for a comforting meal.

- 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, and salt. Add chicken pieces and coat well. Cover and marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread marinated chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- Add baked chicken to the skillet along with any juices from the baking sheet.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir until well combined. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- Serve with basmati rice or naan for a complete meal.
- Adjust spices according to your heat preference.
