Description

This delightful preschool graduation cake is the perfect way to celebrate your child’s big day. It’s fun, colorful, and easy to make, ensuring a memorable celebration for your little graduate!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • Food coloring (red, blue, yellow, green)
  • 1 batch of buttercream frosting
  • Graduation-themed cake toppers or decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter equally into separate bowls for coloring. Add different food coloring to each bowl and mix until you reach your desired colors.
  6. Spoon the colored batters into the prepared cake pans, swirling them together for a marbled effect if desired.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, frost the top of one cake layer with buttercream, place the second layer on top, and frost the entire cake.
  9. Decorate with graduation-themed cake toppers and additional frosting decorations as desired.
  10. Slice and serve your beautiful graduation cake to celebrate your child’s big day!

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the colors to match your child’s school colors.
  • You can also add fun sprinkles or edible glitter for extra decoration.
  • For a more personalized touch, consider writing your child’s name and graduation year on the cake with icing.
