- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Decorative icing for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, decorate the cookies with icing to celebrate the nurse graduation theme.
Notes
- For a fun touch, use icing to write ‘Congrats Nurse!’ on some of the cookies.
- You can add nurse-themed sprinkles to the icing for extra decoration!
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
