- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Parchment paper

- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, mixing well.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

- If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Line a cast-iron skillet or a heavy-duty baking dish with parchment paper.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared skillet, spreading it evenly.
- Place the skillet over the campfire coals, covering it with a lid or aluminum foil to trap heat.
- Cook for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Remove from the fire and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Ensure the coals are hot but not flaming to prevent burning the bottom of the brownies.
- You can add nuts or other mix-ins according to your preference.
