  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Delicious, fudgy brownies made right over the campfire, perfect for outdoor adventures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Prepare a campfire and let it burn down to hot coals.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, mixing well.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Line a cast-iron skillet or a heavy-duty baking dish with parchment paper.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared skillet, spreading it evenly.
  8. Place the skillet over the campfire coals, covering it with a lid or aluminum foil to trap heat.
  9. Cook for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Remove from the fire and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the coals are hot but not flaming to prevent burning the bottom of the brownies.
  • You can add nuts or other mix-ins according to your preference.
