- 1 French baguette or Italian bread, sliced
- 4 cups ripe tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet. Brush each slice with olive oil on both sides.
- Toast the bread in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Top each slice of toasted bread with the tomato mixture.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add mozzarella or goat cheese on top of the bruschetta.
- Feel free to customize the toppings; avocados, olives, or roasted peppers can also be great additions.
