Description

These savory beef rolls are filled with fresh herbs and served with a tangy pickled cucumber for a delightful contrast in flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh herbs (such as basil, cilantro, and mint)
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Add cucumber slices and toss to coat. Let sit for at least 30 minutes to pickle.
  2. Season the beef slices with salt, pepper, soy sauce, and garlic.
  3. Place a few fresh herbs on each slice of beef and roll them up tightly.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef rolls and sear on all sides until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve the beef rolls with the pickled cucumber on the side.
