Description

Tender beef rolls stuffed with savory ingredients and wrapped in cabbage leaves, baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 head of cabbage, leaves separated and blanched
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onions, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Take a cabbage leaf and place a generous tablespoon of the beef mixture at the base of the leaf. Roll it up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
  4. Repeat with the remaining cabbage leaves and beef mixture.
  5. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the cabbage rolls seam-side down and brown for about 5 minutes.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix together tomato sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar.
  7. Place the browned cabbage rolls in a baking dish and pour the sauce mixture over the top.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the rolls are cooked through.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious beef rolls with cabbage!

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like carrots or bell peppers to the beef mixture for added flavor and nutrition.
  • These rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking. Just add extra cooking time if baking from frozen.
