Description

A delicious dessert made with bananas, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and rum, served over vanilla ice cream.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup dark rum
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the mixture is smooth and bubbly.
  3. Add the sliced bananas and cook for about 2 minutes, gently stirring to coat the bananas.
  4. Carefully add the rum to the skillet. If desired, ignite the rum with a long lighter to create a flambé effect (be cautious!). Allow the flames to subside.
  5. Serve the banana mixture over scoops of vanilla ice cream.
