Description

A delightful and aromatic apple cinnamon tart that perfectly combines the tartness of fresh apples with warm cinnamon and a buttery crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, flour, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a tart pan. Trim any excess crust hanging over the edges.
  4. Arrange the apple mixture evenly over the crust. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
  5. Fold the edges of the pie crust over the apples, leaving the center exposed.
  6. Brush the crust with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can sprinkle some nutmeg or allspice along with the cinnamon.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.
