  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Delicate and crispy fried pastries dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for any celebration or festive occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • for dusting powdered sugar
  • for frying vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted butter, and milk until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes until elastic.
  5. Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into strips, about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long.
  7. Twist each strip into a figure-eight or bow shape.
  8. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Fry the twisted dough pieces in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  10. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  11. Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to prevent the dough from absorbing too much oil.
  • You can add vanilla extract to the dough for additional flavor.
