Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground sausage with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried sage, red pepper flakes, and maple syrup if using. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into patties, about 1/4 inch thick. You should get around 8 patties.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Place the sausage patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; you may need to cook in batches.
  5. Cook the patties at 400°F (200°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F or 70°C).
  6. Remove the patties from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can customize the seasoning to your taste. Add herbs or spices that you enjoy!
  • For a crispier texture, spray the patties lightly with cooking spray before air frying.
  • These patties can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
