Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix (and ingredients required to make it)
  • 1 can of chocolate frosting
  • 8 ounces of black candy melts
  • 8 ounces of yellow candy melts
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Miniature Reese’s cups
  • Gold foil or yellow paper for the tassels
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bake the chocolate cake according to the package instructions. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl. Add in the chocolate frosting and mix until fully combined.
  3. Form the cake mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for about 30 minutes until firm.
  4. Melt the black candy melts according to package instructions.
  5. Dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted chocolate and then insert it into a cake ball. Repeat for all cake balls.
  6. Dip each cake ball into the melted black candy, ensuring it’s fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
  7. Place the coated cake pops back on the baking sheet to set.
  8. Once set, top each cake pop with a miniature Reese’s cup to create the cap. Use melted yellow candy melts to attach the Reese’s cups, and drizzle some over the top for decoration.
  9. Cut small strips of gold foil or yellow paper to create tassels and attach them to the Reese’s cups.
  10. Add sprinkles if desired and let everything set before serving.
